This week Mr. SD and I will be taking a little road trip to visit friends and family. All shop purchases will be processed on Monday, November 21st.
Once I return that Monday, I will be posting a new base in the shop: Nzuri Worsted! This is a single-ply worsted blend of 50/50 silk and merino wool. You’ll get approximately 220 yards to 100 grams. The first color up will be a dreamy multi-dimensional green.
So what’s the story behind the name? Nzuri technically means “good” in Kiswahili. When I lived in Kenya I found that there weren’t really any words for ‘comfortable’ or ‘soft’ in Kiswahili–just “Nzuri” or if you really wanted to emphasize it, “Nzuri sana” which means ‘really good.’ This yarn is Nzuri sana.
See you soon!
